In 1978, just six months after his admission to practice law in the State of New York, Edward J. Sanocki, Jr., tried his first case in the United States District Court in New York and won. Since that time, Mr. Sanocki has successfully tried and won innumerable cases and has developed a reputation as a premier trial attorney who does not shy away from the "tough cases." His areas of specialty include medical malpractice, products liability, automobile accidents and construction accidents. With his instinctive skill and ability, he has obtained large awards for claimants in cases involving brain damage, paralysis, cognitive and intellectual impairment, blindness, spinal cord injuries, birth trauma, loss of limbs and wrongful death. Additionally, Mr. Sanocki's trial experience has produced successful verdicts in commercial cases and breach of contract matters.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Sanocki has achieved recognition as a result of his exceptional trial prowess. He has frequently been listed in the New York Law Journal's annual publication of "Top Medical Malpractice Verdicts" as a trial attorney who has obtained some of the highest awards for his clients. A number of his verdicts have been featured as the "Verdict of the Month" in the New York Jury Verdict Reporter. Mr. Sanocki and his firm was honored as a recipient of the 2014 Litigator Award (awarded to less than 1% of all lawyers) and named to the New York Law Journal N.Y. Verdict Search Verdicts and Settlements Hall of Fame for Medical Malpractice. He was selected as a 2015 Super Lawyer.
Mr. Sanocki's past results include a multi-million dollar verdict in a neurological medical malpractice case that was, at the time and for over a decade thereafter, the largest medical malpractice verdict in Supreme Court, Westchester County history. In addition, Mr. Sanocki was the trial attorney in a case that resulted in a large settlement for a well-known Hollywood comedienne in the United States District Court in Connecticut.
An Emeritus member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers, Mr. Sanocki has lectured extensively on the subject of trial advocacy and personal injury litigation. These lectures have covered a broad range of topics including "Recent Decisions" and "Jury Selection" seminars for the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute. His extensive knowledge and skill has earned him speaking engagements before the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the Mississippi Trial Lawyers, and the New York State Bar Association on various trial topics from "Effective Opening Statements" to "Summations." He has also given a lecture on medical malpractice on "Legal Night" at the Hall of Justice in Harlem for The National Action Network.
Besides lecturing, Mr. Sanocki was asked to contribute an educational article in Europe on the subject of "Medical Malpractice," which was featured on the front page of the Albanian Journal newspaper, and appeared in the Health Section of that publication.
Mr. Sanocki was born in Detroit, Michigan. His passion for the law and commitment to help people are defining qualities for his outstanding legal achievements.
